Your body needs a Hot Tub…when: Answer to follow!

I have always liked the term “Weekend Warrior” whether it’s defined as playing sports or donning on that new tool belt and you start acting as Joe Fix-It around the house. We find out our skill level and risk level quickly by how the job looks or how we look when it’s over.

We also sacrifice our bodies during such events and the outcome can be memorable. You may remember the task of taking the air conditioners out of the windows and putting them away for the season. Ok, how about raking the endless amount of leaves. Oh look at that wonderful snow! Yes someone very soon will be saying that and I’ll bet you that they don’t have to shovel a driveway!

A recent marketing campaign by a local Emergency Room hospital had these forty foot signs depicting a Weekend Warrior and his return trip from the ER. Funny, however it’s frightening at the same time.

According to National Safety Council Injury Fact Report 2004 two thirds of all injuries happened away from work. That’s over 9 million people!

Unsafe Acts
Unsafe Conditions
Unsafe Behaviors

An unsafe act is committed by someone, they can create an unsafe condition for you, and you get injured! Or you commit the unsafe act and it results in your personal injury. It all stems from unsafe behaviors!

Bottom line is you want to stay away from looking like the person on the Emergency Room campaign sign.

To answer the question: Your body needs a hot tub when you survive your romp as a Weekend Warrior! Relax, step in and admire your accomplishment, scars and bruises.
